@VickiBatman : #HandbagMonday asks What's in Your Closet?

*Handbag Monday*

It's Handbag Monday! And today's is from my Enid Collins' collection. Take a look:

A clutch entitled "flower garden." Enid named each of her creations. This one has a nice roomy pouch with a pocket, and a very handy wristlet. Alas, while carrying it, the seam has become unsewn. I have to take my treasure to the shoe shop for a tiny repair. And unfortunately, the perils of carrying vintage sometimes.

I found the bag at an antique mall. I'd just begun buying Enid Collins and noted this one was different from the traditional totes we know her for. As I learned more about the company's history, I discovered it had been sold to the Tandy Corporation. Thus, the logo change from "ec" to the small horse with the "Collins" wrapped around it..

Enid did produce some designs for the Tandy Corp.

I *think* I paid $24.00. A bargain for something quite unique. Although I did hesitate before completely deciding and went through the whole store before going back and claiming my prize.

What do you think?

I love viewing all these wonderful purses

Pretty. It's to admire and behold, but being vintage and delicate, it's not practical for schlepping out on town. Enjoy!

Thanks, Marian. I have fun putting them up and sharing.

Hi, Rayne. I'm glad the seam came apart and nothing more drastic. It goes with so many things too! And holds all my stuff. Hugs

Wow. So pretty. I'd worry about taking it out. The jewels on it are beautiful.

Hi, Melissa: I do worry about the jewels and have had some fall off. I always so jewel check. They can be found on ebay, though. So far, I've been lucky and not lost any. Just reglued.

Hi, Cyndi! I do like this one a lot. It is great to travel with because it goes with so many things and fits in my back pack. Thanks for posting.

I got a couple of vintage bags from my mother-in-law. One's the most beautiful shade of green. I'd give plenty to have matching shoes. Your Enid Collins is lovely, Vicky.

Hi, Cara and thanks! Today, a friend brought a Sophistakit which is an Enid copy one could make at home for a fraction of the cost. Quite fun to see and it had been done well.

Hi, Joan! Lucky girl and shoes would be so lovely. I tried on a pair of Manolo Blanick's the other day. Never done that before. They were vintage and lovely, but had kickass heels and I don't do well in those since the ankle busting.

Thank you so much for visiting with me. Hugs.
