Vicki Batman ~ April Fooled #Proposal

Happy April Fool's Day!!

OR

Happy Proposal Day!!

I had a good idea Handsome would propose; so when we had made plans and a friend attached himself to our date, all was changed. Rats.

However, Handsome proposed the next day--April Fool's Day.

I did say yes.

Being new to the whole proposal thingy, I wondered if proposing on April Fool's Day meant he could reconsider. I wanted it to be a real viable one. So the next day I said something along the lines of "you know what you asked yesterday?"

His mouth shaped a tiny grin. "Yes."

"Well, that was April Fool's Day. Did you, um, mean it?"

His smile grew bigger. Sweat collected on my forehead the longer he took. Finally, he asked, "Will you marry me?"

I said with great rejoicing, "Yes!"

I can't believe he proposed on april Fool's day. Too funny! Leave it to your Handsome to do that.

Hi, Kat! In a way, the day has become more memorable for me than our actual anniversary. lololol

This is so cute. At least you'll always remember the day of his proposal, right? That's cool.

That does sound like he was giving himself a way out but realized he truly wanted to marry you and asked again.

Glad he did that.

That is one of the sweetest proposals I've ever heard of. Glad he meant it.

Hi, Patti! You can imagine how weird it felt. Deep down, I knew, but we're girls and they're guys and with them, you never know. I had to get confirmation. lol

Hi, Liza! He was toying with me when he made me wait. And can you imagine my head that night? I didn't sleep a wink and couldn't tell anyone until I made sure. We get a lot of laughs because of it, too.

Hi, Maria! I'll tell Handsome you said so. He can be such a pill. Hugs.

Of course you had to make sure. It's such a wonderful story to tell children and grandchildren. Happy 1st of April.

It's so great to see a wife refer after so many years of marriage to her husband as "Handsome" You put the happy in happily ever after, Vicki. Wishing you 50 more years of togetherness... Question: If you call him Handsome... what does he call you? xxoo

Hi, Rayne! It is a great story to share down the road. I laugh every year.

Hi, Donnell! He's pretty Handsome, although cancer was very rough on him. He calls me Beautiful. lol No joke.

Hi, Lani! A charmer? *snicker* I'll tell him you said that. He's incredibly nice--most of the time. lol

Hi, Phyllis! Yes!!! Two proposals. And they both stuck.

Hi, Angela! It's so funny. And I've always liked this date better than our anniversary. Well, it does have a better story. The day of is practically a given. lol

This is from the email, Handsome sent today: Beautiful, April Fools Day - -I asked you to marry me 32 years ago. It was not a joke!!!! Love you very much.‏

Cute story. Great sense of humor here, but I am wondering, when you responded yes on April 1, could there have been a question in his mind that you were fooling him? Just wondering.

Hi, Janie! That's hilarious. Well, I won't say how long ago, but it is a long long long time ago.

Hi, Melissa! He's good, but has his man moments. Two weeks now, he hasn't fixed the light fixture in the kitchen. I'm seeing what his record will be.

Hi, JQRose! You know that scenario never raised its head--thankfully. I shall have to ask Handsome to hear his thoughts.

Hi, Sydell! It's so funny. I did give him a large picture yesterday, a print from a favorite artist to celebrate.
