.@VickiBatman - a chance encounter in an elevator = a new friend Cara Marsi with a green bag on #handbag Monday #MFRWorg #fashion

My friend from the elevator is Cara Marsi. That's right, we met on an elevator and bonded over writing romantic short fiction. She's my guest today on

*Handbag Monday*

Here's something about Cara: Cara Marsi, an award-winning author and self-proclaimed TV junkie, is a former corporate drone and cubicle dweller. Freed from her fabric-covered cage, she can now indulge her love of all things romance. An eclectic author, Cara is published in romantic suspense, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, and  romance short stories.

This green Kate Spade bag is my favorite for several reasons: I think it’s beautiful; it’s roomy; it’s green, my favorite color (a green purse even figures prominently in one of my books). And the top reason I love it—I got it half price.

If you’ve never heard of the online discount retailer, Gilt Groupe, hop on over to the internet right now and join. Here’s their site: www.gilt.com. They sell designer clothes and accessories that are overstocks or from the season that just passed. When I saw this bag on their site, I knew I had to have it. But you need to work fast. The deals go quickly.

What makes me love this even more is soon after I bought it, I was in Nordstrom's and saw the same bag for double what I paid. So it wasn’t last season’s and I really got a deal.

Cara, you wicked girl! This green is gorgeous. I love a good bargain too.

I'm such a lucky girl because I'm in an anthology with Cara. Her story is "A Cinderella Christmas." Here's a blurb:

Jessica Gallo no longer believed in fairy tales or happy endings. And she certainly didn’t believe she’d find her Prince Charming at Saks Fifth Avenue. Her Fairy Godmother thought differently.

Thank you so much, Cara, for sharing another lovely Kate Spade!

I don't carry a handbag--if I do it lays on the floor of the car. I have a Brighton wallet and even it is rarely used. I have jeans pockets! LOL
Green is my fave color and that bag really pops!

Love the bag. Isn't it funny how chance encounters give us the best friends some time? Great message.

Hi, D'Ann! I wish I was as minimal as you are. I don't carry tons, just a few things I can switch from handbag to handbag. Thanks for posting.

You are right, a lovely green.

Hi, Sylvia! I think it is fun how life works and gives us friends. Look at us. Hugs.

Hi, Marian! I'm all over bargain too. And Cara seems to find really good Kate Spade ones. Label me: Jealous!

Love the handbag, Cara. Bet you get a lot of compliments when you use it. Love shopping for them, especially when they're on sale! Great being part of the anthology with you.

I love the style of this bag, but black or brown are more my color. I'm looking forward to all the reads in "Season of Magic."

Hey, Vicki and Cara. If this bag were turquoise, I might go for it. LOL I'm guessing even half price, I'd never buy a purse for that much. :) I used to have all colors of purses to match my shoes (when I was much, much younger. Now I use one in the fall winter and one in the spring summer, well and a snazzy one for fancy go outs. :) I used to have large purses and then carried large bags along with that. Ruined both shoulders, so go for much smaller. When we traveling I shrink to a fanny pack. I'm always amazed I can get by with so little.
Love that you two met in an elevator. Gosh isn't there a story there? I'll share, Vicki.

Hi, Karla! You are so welcome. You would like Cara's work.

Hi, Miss Red! That green is so delicious. I think I have one green bag made from a boot top. Hmmmm...going to check now.

Hi, Gerri! We love being in the anthology with you. Hugs.

Hi, Angela! I used to do brown or black, but I am a huge red fan; so toss those in. Finally, I find all kinds of bargains in all colors. Now, that's fun.

Hi, Marsha! I never overload my bags. I do have a trickey shoulder--carried two gallons of milk in one hand and cradled a boy in the other. That cured me. I have a turquoise Kate Spade...just sayin....

I loved Cara's story! I love the color of the bag too! I would have to have a wallet inside to manage my stuff!

Hi, Melissa! One day, we shall have to meet in person. We'll arrange a strange spot and laugh for years. An organized wallet never hurts!
