Handbag & Book with
Grace Augustine

I purchased this purse at Walmart. It's an across the body purse, and it fits my needs.  I have MS and there are days when I have to use two arm crutches and am unable to carry a regular purse.

Richard served his turn in Vietnam, but came home a changed man. Plagued with nightmares of the past, Richard and his friends go on a life changing trip back to modern day Saigon. Their hope...to slay the dragons that stole so much of their lives.
Each deals with his own demons. Each has life changing experiences. Each finds out the importance of friendship and family.

“Johnny! Goddamn it! Get down!” Richard yelled from his belly, the brush barely hiding him and the other four men on this clusterfuck of a mission. Just as the sound of gunfire erupted, Johnny hit the ground, not even a twitch from his body as bullets whizzed by like a thousand angry, deadly bees.

Richard kept his stomach French-kissing the ground as he crawled over to the young man who was in his charge. Blood covered Johnny’s chest and head.

“Sonofabitch! Johnny, don’t you dare die on me! Do you hear me? Johnny!”

Richard sprang to a sitting position and looked at the clock. The red digital numbers 3:00 am stared angrily back at him. He ran a shaky hand through the small stubble of hair on his head. Like so many other mornings he woke up drenched in sweat from undying memories: memories of gunfire, yelling, children crying. Memories of clear unblinking eyes and permanent looks of fear frozen into faces as still as marble. The stench of death. Vietnam.

Hi, Grace! Wonderful to have you. I wore crossbody bags when my boys were small so my hands were free. I still prefer the style when traveling.

It looks like the perfect bag for me. I'm looking for a new one. My husband bought me one last year that I love but the handles are wearing out. *sigh*

Hi, Melissa! Have you considered adding new handles??

Vicki...Thank you so much for hosting me on your blog. I apologize for the delay in my acknowledging your gracious posts. I've been battling the crud for a few weeks now and have only spotty time to get online. Again. Thank you so much.

Melissa...it is wonderful! I use arm crutches, so having the purse over neck helps keep my hands free.

Angela Adams, thank you so much! It was a very difficult topic to write and it took a totally different direction than what I'd set out to write. War is never easy. I hope you have a chance to read it at some point!

Thank you all again for your lovely comments. Blessings.
