Handbag and Book: Vicki is showing off the present she bought herself #readroamance #RLF #holidaysareovernowwhat

It's a new year! And I know you are wondering did VB get a new handbag for Christmas? Handsome gave me smart wool socks, three sweaters, and a lovely scarf with birds. But no bag.

LOL. I bought myself a bag. You know how I cruise eBay and ETSY for vintage handbags? I found one, in fact, a needlepoint one in a different style than I have bought before:

Isn't it adorable? Guess what sold me on this one beside the size? The black  poodle in the bottom right corner. Some of you may know I have two Adorapoos, aka Malti-poos which are part Maltese and Poodle:

The bag is about twelve inches in length and five inches wide, eight inches high. Both sides have the same needlepoint patterns. I'll have to road test it to see how my stuff fits. I'm pretty sure only the smallest paperback will.

And just for fun, here's the link to my Author Central page in case you might need a good read: Vicki Batman

Happy New Year, Vicki! Love the colors on the bag. And with the medium-length strap it can double as a handbag and shoulder bag. :)

Very nice. Happy New Year. Love the new handbag and especially the idea of placing a small book in it to read!

Your handbag makes me think of Spring...which can't arrive soon enough for me!

Hi, Chris! It was irresistible. lol

Hi, Joanne! So true about the strap. My first inclination was to swap it out with a beaded one and I may one day. Give it a new twist.

Hi, Karilyn, I know! The poodle is adorable and sold me on the bag.

Hi, Pam! I have a criteria about being able to carry a book in my bag. Saved me lots of times from boredom. lol

Hi, Angela! So you answered my question-is this a spring bag. You see it as one and it probably is.

Hi, Melissa! I usually can find a handbag. Real easy.

I am going to date myself when I say I remember when this design came out. I wanted to do one so badly but never got around to it. Pretty bag. Enjoy!

OMG! I adore your handbag! I never thought to search on Etsy or Ebay, either. A gal can never have enough handbags. Psst...don't let my husband hear this, lol!

Hi, Anonymous! If I had been stitching when younger, I would have done this one too. I'm so glad I find these and can carry something unique. If you would like to show off your bags on my blog, email me.

Me: I'll never tell, Mary. It is amazing what can be bought for a great price. Let me know if you do and we can show them off.

Ilona Fridl has left a new comment on your post "Handbag and Book: Vicki is showing off the present...":

That is a beautiful handbag, Vicki! I love needle point and that is in vivid colors. Happy New Year!

Hi, Ilona! It is pretty and shall be carrying it soon. Right now, I have a darling black leather one I found at an antique mall. Funny thing-it matches a gray one I'd bought not long ago. LOL

Wonderful purse! So fun. I collect handbags, too. But none of mine are terribly unique. I like to have lots of different colors for the changes in season but they have to be the right size, which is hard to find, and easy to get stuff in and out of. So I'm more practical than you. And good for getting yourself a present. A lot of times that's the only way we get what we really want. My husband is very generous and gets me lovely things, but I wouldn't want him buying me a purse anyway. Take care.

Hi, Mary! I am fairly particular about size too and I change with seasons and sometimes, for outfits, particularly church. There's no way Handsome should buy me a bag unless I tear out a picture and circle it, saying, "buy me." lol Thanks for stopping by.
