These romantic reads can be read as stand-alone stories. But, why would you want to do that? Read them all! Immerse yourself in this wintery ensemble from Romance Collections.

Featured in Whispers of Winter is my romantic comedy short story, "The Great Fruitcake Bake-off."

When a five-time champion Samantha Greene teams up with her new neighbor, Dixon Roberts, for The Great Fruitcake Bake-off, they discover baking a prize-winning entry is complicated, bad guys are plotting to take the crown, and first prize isn't just about a ribbon.
"I’m not entering this year.” I pinned an unbreakable stare on Bethany, my co-worker and long-time friend who lived in the same apartment complex as me. Standing firm, I crossed my arms. “Period.”

We'd arrived early for work and were piddling over coffee in her cubical like we always did before diving into the nuts and bolts of company business. She rolled her eyes in the “I'm so not believing this” fashion and tweaked the Santa garland decorating her cube's walls. “Why not, Samantha? You should be proud to be the five-time winner of The Great Fruitcake Bake-off. You're a-a”--her words trailed off as she searched the ceiling for the ultimate in descriptive--“legend.”

I dropped my arms to twitch my black skirt in place, then I tucked my shoulder-length hair behind my ear. I let loose a long exhale, “Is being a legend in the fruitcake world a good thing?”

“What’s your point?” Bethany asked.

“Alright already, it's exhausting. Finding the perfect recipe, then bake and exhibit it. The tension comes close to killing my holiday enjoyment. Besides”-–I shoved my finger in her direction—-“shouldn't the love be spread? Shouldn’t somebody else win the Bake-off?”
“Oh, by golly, Sam.” Bethany's hands covered her eyes. A few seconds passed, then she clasped them to her chest, inhaled, and composed her annoyance before saying, “We're talking fruitcake here. It's not groundbreaking like-like the Declaration of Independence. Or the Pyramids.”

Reviews:

5.0 out of 5 stars. I started off reading Stranger in the Snow by Jane Blythe. I love her stories of suspense. There is a little bit of "romance" but just a sprinkle. You get to meet Paisley and Stephen. They meet under duress circumstances. The author had me doubting the hero of the story. Could he mean to do harm? Or can he save Paisley.
So much drama and suspense all wrapped in a bow. This is a short Novella and I was able to read it in less than an hour. I need to jump on the rest of the stories as I can see from other reviews, each story has a mix of goodness! I definitely recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars. The Bog Bad Wolf. This box set is amazing. There is a story for everyone and for all heat levels. My review is on a wolf's claim. This book is about a witch who goes to the annual holiday ball. This ball is for all paranormal entities as well as humans. She is reserved to never find a mate and live to be an old witch without a mate helping everyone. She soon realizes that her fate is about to change. Very steamy resad with HEA. This is only one book in this mass collection. It does not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Christmas Stories That Will Get You In The Holiday Spirit. This Story set will have something for everyone who wants a little holiday romance. My favorite was Luca's Little Christmas Cracker. Luca and Amy meet at the mall where she is a Christmas photographer doing family photos for Christmas. Lucas was captivated right from the start and over the course of the Christmas holiday they fall in love. It is a sweet story that have you cheering for Luca and Amy as they take that journey to the next step into happily ever after.
5.0 out of 5 stars. For Touchdown Dance - A reminder we don't need to be perfect to find a happy-ever-after love. This Review is for Touchdown Dance: I really loved this story. Peyton is so unique and just alive on the page, and it's her perceived imperfections that make her so loveable and perfect. Although she sees herself as flawed, I think her OCD is an asset to her character. And her hero is the right compliment to her personality, just like the special treats she makes in her restaurant to accompany her teas. I love all of Ms. Shoemaker's books, but Touchdown Dance will always be my favorite. A reminder we don't need to be perfect to deserve a happy ending and that true love sees our perceived flaws and loves us anyway.
5.0 out of 5 stars. A great holiday bundle. There’s so many short reads to choose from, that there truly is something for everyone. I was partial to Jan Springer’s Nice Girl Naughty and Stacy Eaton’s Mistletoe Fantasy.

Good set of books. Great set of romance books. I especially loved Christmas Wishes by Livia Quinn.
4.0 out of 5 stars. A riveting read! So, what Stranger in the Snow has taught me is that if you are driving in the snow and see someone holding what you think is a human head to just keep driving and not try and avoid the psycho in the road, ha ha ha. Wow! What a gripping read this story was!! Stranger in the Snow is a short story that is a part of a multi-author box set called Whispers of Winter. This is the only story I have read from that set but if it is any indication of the theme then it is surely to be a box set that I would very much enjoy reading!!
Paisley encountered an unthinkable image on her way home and it was such a jarring one that she found herself run off the road. As if that is not bad enough, another problem was that she caught only a glimpse of the man who was crossing the road and she has no idea what he really looked like. When she regained consciousness, it was to a man who was trying to assist her. Can you even imagine? Paisley was caught between trusting a man who could for all intents and purposes be misleading her so that she could become his next victim or he could be a good Samaritan who is truly just trying to help. This conundrum was the driving force that led Paisley into a horrifying scenario that I can’t even begin to think about.
Stranger in the Snow was a spine-tingling short story that will keep you turning the pages! I love reading stories by Ms. Blythe because it always causes me to consider what I would do if I had been in the character’s shoes, so to speak. I love that because it draws me right in alongside the character and I become absolutely invested in the outcome. There was also enough reasonable doubt woven into the telling of this story which kept me on the edge as to whether or not correct assumptions were being made. This was such a riveting read that will keep you guessing and I highly recommend it to you!
4.0 out of 5 stars. A delightfully intense ending. I read Jane Blythe's Stranger in the Snow: WOW, what a start! I do love a damsel in distress during a storm and Paisley has run into a human and a natural disaster that leaves her injured and at the mercy of Stephen. Is he a good guy or the bad guy? Is there such a thing as love at first sight? I can only imagine, through Jane Blythe’s well written story, the terror that Paisley must have felt by what she saw, the injury from the crash, the pitch blackness of the night, and a strange man with a gun. Predictable, but terrifying. Jane gets me involved even though I know what’s going to happen, I am apprehensive, uptight and eager to know. OH NO! Didn’t see that coming until it was too late. Well…Stranger in the Snow has a delightfully intense ending and I give Jane Blythe a high five on a job well done. It’s not the easiest thing to do…get someone totally engrossed in a novella.
5.0 out of 5 stars. Resisting You - wonderful love story. This was a sweet and kind of personal story for me in particular. I could relate to a lot of the feelings Kendall was going through, including the younger man who was pursuing her and her heart. Suzanne always hits the nail on the head in her storylines. I don’t miss anything she writes.
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great writing! I’ve only read Jane Blythe’s Danger In the Snow and it’s a great read. It’s short since all the stories are novella size. It has wonderful writing.
5.0 out of 5 stars. I loved each story!! What a wonderful book to curl up with on a winter evening! Nicole Morgan- Storm of Seduction, Stephanie Morris - The Gift, Caitlyn Lynch - Luca’s Little Christmas Cracker, Sharon Coady - Christmas Choices, Donna R. Mercer – Hot Coffee, The Great fruitcake Bake-Off-Vicki Batman, Jan Springer – Nice Girl Naughty those are just the first six books and you have a ton more to choose from. This book has stories that show deep emotions with good plots and twists you will love plus characters that will bring you on a grand journey. This book is well worth taking a chance on. I loved each story!!
