St. Pat's Day Blog Hop

The Green Thing

I have a confession: I have NO green clothing. I'm not even sure I'm Irish. Don't be alarmed. I know there are others of you out there.

Second confession: since I have no green clothes, I won't be wearing green. Hey, get those pinchers retracted. I'll probably be carrying a green handbag--does that count?

Here's what I can choose from:

LOL. If someone had said today was Pink Day, I'm all set. I love pink. I wear lots of black, too. A tad of brown and blue. But, nope, no green.

I know my mom's family came from England, Switzerland, Germany. Dad's probably Scotland. That's pretty close to Ireland--right?

So to make sure I'm not nipped black and blue (we all know some people get a little carried away), I'll print off a shamrock and pin it to my shirt.

Here's a blurb from my short story collection, "Man Theory":

"I have a theory about love.”

Ethan's statement knocked me from the proverbial mountain top. Eyeing him, I clapped my hand across my mouth to stifle a giggle.

From Day One at our new jobs at Prime Designs, Ethan and I had forged a friendship. I was the artsy-heartsy, emotional gal. Him--the technical, by-the-book pal. We ate an occasional dinner, watched a movie, whatever. Traded small gifts like coffee, a magazine, music. However, Ethan had never made an overture toward me.

Translated: Nothing intimate.

I'd said to myself, "Rats."

For work, we'd traveled to Colorado Springs to attend a workshop on web design innovations. After check-in, I'd joined him at the bridge crossing the lake to decide about lunch before the meetings commenced.

My six-one geek wearing rimless glasses, leaned against the railing, and stared into the sparkling blue waters of the high mountain lake, and the feathered fowl paddling by.

Have his feelings changed?

I asked in disbelief, "R-really? A theory...about love?"

Thanks for stopping by and may the pink, I mean, the green thing be with you! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Hi, Jenny! Thanks for stopping and I can't wait to visit you.

Hi, Brinda: Tomorrow is the official day, but today is blog hop day. I'm glad you like my titles. I love my shorts. :)

Hi, Liese: you know I'd rather wear pink! LOL

You are so darn cute, Vicki. Simply adorable. Love the handbags btw. Like you, my family ancestry comes from afar and local (US). My brother and sister? You won't find a richer more vibrant head of red hair, freckles & light skin. Funny...they look fabulous in green. Me? I'm more olive skin and zilchorama red hair. Still, they are a reminder of the history in our family.

Thanks for all the wonderful emotions your blog seems to always invoke. See? You have me thinking of my family. How nice is that?

Love ya!

Vicki Batman, said...

Hi, Karen: if there's red in your hair, then why isn't it in your avatar? LOLOL

Off in a bit to do more handbag shopping. Surprised? LOL

Vicki Batman, said...

Hi, Angela: I'm not worried. I'm pretty tall and that might scare some of them away. LOL

Hi, Janeria: and welcome. I once had a beautiful dark green shirt. I can't even describe the neat color. Wore it out and have never found a replacement. LOL

I think a green handbag is fine! I don't look good in green so I usually wear a lovely pair of green suede moccasins. They count!

Hi Vicki,

Happy St. Patrick's Day (even if its a day early). Red hair, green eyes? Hep that's me. (Plus with my real last name, is there any doubt I'm Irish? I'll be wearing green (I am already) today and tomorrow, of course.

Have fun on your blog hop.

Oh, now, Vicki, don't let the Irish be hearing that Scottish is similar...they don't get along too well (or at least that is what my Scottish FIL told me).

Haha, can't believe you gathered everything you own that is green and took a picture ^.^ I don't own any piece of clothing that is green either. It just doesn't suit my complexion.

Now, if it was wear-blue day, I'd be all set ;)
