About the Handbag:
Yes, this is a red handbag. It has a shoulder strap and actually hangs horizontally. As you can see, the black embossed design indicates it is a book of spells and potions. It was a gift from my good friend and author, Julie Rowe.
Julie and I are book twins. Our first published books were released by the same publisher on the same day. We ‘found’ each other at our publisher’s room at an RWA conference and have been close friends ever since. Even though she lives in the far reaches of Alberta Canada and I’m in New Jersey, five miles out of New York City we keep in touch and beta read for each other.
The design was very apropos. Julie was a medical
lab technologist and is my ‘go to’ person for potions and herb remedies for my
series, The Stelton Legacy. We spent lots of time plotting and planning
the potions and even some spells. That year, this was my holiday present. The
handbag is black on the inside and has a zippered divider so you can find
things.
About the
Book:
Her mind kept telling her to stop loving him, but her heart
couldn’t let him go.
The two authors take on a writing challenge based on a story of stolen gold taken from the newspaper headlines all to determine the better writer. While researching the story, Lady Alicia is captured by the thieves’ ringleader. Can Lady Alicia turn this mystery into an award-winning story? Can Justin save his real-life heroine? Can they both overcome their own challenges for a happily ever after?
About the Author: RUTH A. CASIE writes swashbuckling action-adventure stories about strong empowered women and the men who deserve, endearing flaws and all, have won her acclaim. A USA Today bestselling author, her novels have finaled in the NJRW Golden Leaf, Reader’s Crown, InD’Tale’s RONE, and Aspen Gold contests. Ruth lives in New Jersey with her husband, three empty bedrooms and a growing number of incomplete counted cross-stitch projects. Before she found her writing voice, she was a speech therapist (pun intended), client-liaison for a corrugated manufacturer, and vice president at a leading international bank, but her favorite job is the one she’s doing now—writing romance.
Answer these questions:
Red, White or Blue? Definitely red. The other colors are too quiet for me.
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter? Each of these seasons have their appeal. I enjoy the cold weather as
long as I’m inside by the fireplace, hot cup of something nearby and reading or
writing. In the warm weather I like to be on the deck or by a pool with an ice
cold drink reading or writing. I love the Spring with everything blooming. But
my favorite is Fall. I love the crisp (not cold) air and the colors. I love the
colors.
Cake or Pie? Cake, Angel Food
with strawberries and whipped cream
Coffee, Tea, or Champagne? COFFEE in
the morning is a must, but it’s tea the rest of the day.
Country music or Michael Buble? Michael Buble!
Pencil or Pen? Pen
