@VickiBatman ~ writer Marilyn Baxter shared a #handbag and we ooohhh and aaaahhhh

~Handbag Monday~

If it's Monday, its #handbag Monday. Today, I welcome a TRUE writing friend, Marilyn Baxter. Let's take a peek at her special bag:

This is my first Coach purse.  Even on clearance and with a % off coupon, it is the most I’ve ever paid for a purse.  But I love it!  I joked that given its value I should probably will it to my oldest granddaughter.  And then I decided it would be a great way to display my ashes after I’m dead and gone.  The purse, a vase of lovely flowers and my photo.  Yes?  Expensive as the purse was, it was still cheaper than the cremation urns I’ve looked at.  I think it would make for a classy funeral.  Don’t you?

I said that I love the purse and here’s why.  Aside from its gorgeous color, it meets my “purse specifications.”  Mine are pretty basic:  inside zipper pocket, inside pocket for my cell phone, roomy interior and an outside pocket for my car keys.  This one meets them all.  It actually has 3 outside pockets – one on the side away from the camera and one on each end.

Do you have purse specifications?  Let’s compare notes.

Your book sounds like a fun read. I use to not like purses, but now I do. Love the color of your new one.

Love the sound of your book, Tea for Two. I love matchmaking stories and have written several myself. Also love the idea of using your coach bag as an URN. HA!! Now that's classy.

That's a pretty color. I loved what you said about it being your urn. Now you have me thinking about urns in a new way! :) Might just decide to spring for that wonderful purse just for that reason! lol...

Hi, Judy! Thank you for visiting with Marilyn today. Hopefully, we have made you a handbag convert. Come back soon!

Hi, Sylvia! Marilyn really helped me develop my short story technique. Love her.

Hi, Melissa! Isn't the urn part hilarious. And gives me a great idea.... lol

Great handbag. I must still be in denial about my own mortality as I can't reconcile a great purse with my remains :) I enjoy all I have while I can, don't dwell on what comes after the fat lady has sung.
"Tea for Two" sound interesting.

Hello all! I've been a bit under the weather today and just now getting online.

Judy, thanks for visiting!

Sylvia, I thought having a Coach urn was very classy. And it should be the talk of the funeral circuit for a while. I don't plan on clocking out for MANY years, but you can never be too prepared. ;-)

Melissa, when I saw that purse I knew it was for me because of the color. I'm a big fan of purple. Surprisingly it goes with just about everything and I get a lot of comments about the color.

Hi Vicki! Thanks for having me!

Rayne, totally understandable. Honestly, I think a serious car accident a few years ago made me begin to think about mortality. As I said above, I plan to live for many more years.

Lani, it IS a great book. LOL!

Angela, I l-o-v-e it too!
