Handbag and Book welcomes
Mary E. Thompson
Handbags are very personal. When I need a new one, it can’t be a gift. I’m just that picky. My Simply Vera bag has been my favorite for a little over a year now. It has a pocket on the outside for my phone, a pocket inside for my keys, and enough space that I can keep everything I like to take with me. Like a notepad for those moments I have to write down an idea!
Tara thought her life was perfect. Right up until everything fell apart. With no job, no boyfriend, and no future, she returned home to Winterville to help her mom run her floral shop. She felt like she was back in high school, working for her mom and living at home.
When nude pictures of Tara show up online, her life is scrutinized even more than it ever was in Hollywood. She can’t leave the house without someone asking her questions or thinking she’ll be willing to model for them. As if.
When Tara meets Noah she thinks he’s playing her. He doesn’t seem to know anything about the pictures. As they get closer, doubts creep in, but Noah holds strong as her rock.
Until he learns the truth.
Noah eyed me carefully then burst out laughing. “You’re an interesting woman.” He called the guy over and traded our tickets for my stuff. I wrapped one of the friendship bracelets around his wrist and he groaned. “Damn. I didn’t want to be in the friend zone.”
I gave him a saucy look and started for the door. “I was thinking it could be a friends-with-benefits bracelet instead.”
“Oh, really?” he asked with raised eyebrows. “Does that mean there are benefits to our friendship?”
I gave him my best come-hither look and walked away, knowing he would follow.
