Blog: Handbag & Book with author Vicki Batman - Thanksgiving Disaster stories and a #rafflecopter #Thanksgiving #shortstories #Christmas

There’s nothing that qualifies
more than no turkey as a disaster—right? That’s what happened when my favorite smoked turkey vendor burned. And it is super sad for the company. However, when I heard the news, I got online and found a replacement. I was a little anxious as I had had no confirmation from the new vendor. A quick call and all is okay.

We have had other interesting things happen on Thanksgiving—like an ice storm. We left for my aunt’s house before the road got bad and returned home after they had been sanded.

Or the year #2 son decided to use the oven in the garage apartment to bake his famous mac ‘n cheese which was being used by my sister for her hubby’s awesome potato dish and her lemon meringue pie. Yeah, too many things in one small oven means something wasn’t quite done.

I’ve become an oven dictator. No baking at my house on Thanksgiving day. Bring your dish ready to serve with a serving utensil. Admittedly, makes preparation easy on me especially hosting up to 25 people. (Not this year. )

And in the midst of the Thanksgiving fun, I’m launching a book. The book and I are on tour at these spots:
