Handbag Monday
welcomes author, Marianne
Rice, who writes contemporary romances set in small New England towns. When she's
not writing, Marianne spends her time buying shoes, eating chocolate,
chauffeuring her herd of children, and when there's time, relaxing with fancy
drinks and a great read.
I have
to admit, I’m more of a shoe slut than a handbag ho. However, now that my
children no longer require me to carry around snacks, wipes, and diapers, I’ve
been able to invest in some Mommy Love. I only have one awesome handbag…my
Coach purse. It’s pretty, simple and holds everything I need. Inside my lovely
purse I have a snakeskin Coach wallet, four different flavored tubes of
Chapstick, a bottle of Advil and a not-so-secret stash of chocolate and mints,
with just enough room for my Kindle. Because a girl must
always be prepared.
He’s got to make the riskiest play of
his life to get her to fall in love again …

oh my- what a dilemma a Shoe Slut or a Handbag Ho - I remember the days when one required the other - our handbags had to match our shoes. It would take searching all over manhattan for my grandmother to find the right purse to match. My mom too.
Looking forward to checking out your books!
Yes, Chris, it's quite the dilemma...matching bag and shoes? I keep my handbag black and like to add a burst of color with my shoes.
Hi, Marianne, and I do the opposite. Handbags are lively and shoes are basics, due to small feet and limited shoe options.
Thank you for coming today!
She's a Shoe Slut for sure! Knowing her for many, many, many years I'm still waiting for her to have to run in the rain (or this year-SNOW) with any of the mutltiple dozens of shoes she has! ~norriechamoff
Vicki,
Thankfully my feet were made to wear heels. I don't know what I would do if I had hard to fit feet (well, I guess I'd have a hoard of handbags like you!)
Norrie,
Workin' the heels today. And they match my handbag :-)
I guess that if you have to have a purse, a Coach one is a solid choice. I am a bag ho and I like to spread it around changing from purse to purse, bag to bag.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers.
Michelle
Hi, Norrie, thank you for stopping by today and come back soon. So many people love love love shoes. I keep thinking my day will come. lol
Hi, Michelle! I spread my love around. In fact, I'm sharing next week my new fav. teeheeheee
Michelle and Vicki,
I find it a lot of work to change from purse to purse. Do you switch with the seasons, outfits, moods?
Curious minds...not that I need another collection. There isn't room in my closet. And I have a large closet.
I too am a handbag ho. Big, little, colorful, black, I love 'em all. My current fad is for Baggallini bags. Mmm, I think the count is at 6, all sizes.
Susan,
You're not helping. Now I need to check out Baggallini bags. My husband is not going to be happy with you. Or me.
Its easy to change because i dont carry tons of stuff, just what i need
Hi, susan: baggalini is popular. I dont have any, but have friends who do
Coach does make some mighty fine handbags. I still have my first one, a gift from hubby in the late '80's. That was when they were very basic and unadorned. Now I'm going to check out Baggallini, because Susan does have lovely purses, hehe.
Hi, Luanna! If you get a new one, let me know and we'll show off on the blog!!!
Luanna,
I'm impressed that the hubby knew what a purse was...and a Coach at that! Last year for my *ahem* birthday my girlfriends took me away skiing for the weekend. My very practical husband bought me a ski helmet.
Marianne ... what an image ... a shoe slut or a bag ho. Like some, I used to need them to match. But then my crooked feet needed more support and my bags got bigger and more functional.
Love the feel of False Start :)
Hi Florence,
Sometimes matching is over-rated!
Hi, Marianne! I love how practical your hubby was.
Love that handbag, Marianne!
Thanks, Angela. It was an awesome Christmas splurge. I feel...grown up now :-)
