Do Birthday Wishes Come True? #Europetravels #handbag #MFRWorg

For my unmentionably big number birthday, I asked Handsome for a Rhine River cruise--yes, the same commercials you see on Downton Abbey.

I love cruises. Here's why:

1. Only unpack one time.
2. Only pack one time.
3. Good meals.
4. Entertainment.
5. Mostly nice people.
6. Great stops.
7. Very relaxing.

So yes, Handsome and I went to the Rhine River where we stopped at places I'd read about. We ate good food. Enjoyed meeting many new folks.

And partied!

There was only one hitch: no handbag.

Not to worry. When I returned home, I went shopping to my favorite store and found this little treasure:

It's a Kate Spade and looks like a travel trunk. I was a little worried about having a zipper and would it open wide enough without scraping my hand.

Worried for nothing.

So to celebrate my b'day, I'm giving away a handbag. If you want to be included in the drawing, just leave your email address in the comments.

Thank you, Susan! The trip was so special. I didn't want to get off the boat.

Sounds like a wonderful and fun experience. And I love that handbag. Very unusual. I'm a one-bag girl myself and my current purse looks like a raccoon or something. People almost daily ask me what it is and if it's alive! But then they say they love it. I named her Harriet!

So glad you got to do that with your Handsome. Some birthday wishes are easy to give, some harder, and some impossible. It's up to us to wish for the ones that might come our way. I'm wishing you many more birthdays with Handsome.

Your cruise sounds lovely. I will be going on my first cruise in November. It is only to the Bahamas. Would like to do a European cruise if I can handle this first one. Glad you had a lovely Birthday!

Well, rats, I posted a bunch of thank yous, and Blogger didn't take. :(

But thank you!

So I shall play catch-up as best as I can.

Thanks, Phyllis.

Thank you, Eve. You've been a good friend.

Hi, Stanalei! The trip was so much fun. Handsome wants one for his "last" birthday. lol

Hi, Angelina! I hope you have a lovely time in the Bahamas. Our first was the Carribean and loved it, especially my BIL and Handsome standing in the ocean, ankle deep, fruity drink in hand and talking about how they had so many f***ng days left of fun.

I love cruises. I am leaving on one in a week. We will be cruising to the Greek Isles.

Hi, Debby! I did the Mediterranean a few years ago and LOVED it! Some spots I wouldn't need to go back to, but others were magnificent. And our boat was perfect. We went on a smaller cruise ship and that was the best experience we'd ever had. Thank you for visiting with me.

Hey Vicki, My husband, his mother, a friend of hers and I all took a cruise down the Rhine River in 1977. It was just a day trip for us though. We had fun.

Hi, Kathy! I can't imagine just a day trip after the 8 day one we had. Naturally, we did linger on in the smaller towns and eat and drink and shop and tour. Glad you liked yours.

Vicki, you lured me to your blog to see what a wonderful wish Handsome made come true for your birthday. What an awesome birthday gift! Cruising is the ultimate relaxation-mode way to travel. Handbags come and handbags go, but memories are forever. Happy Birthday! :)

How did you get through a vacation without a handbag??????

Vicki Batman, sassy writer said...

Hi, Gemma! I'm so glad you were lured. LOL. I've said for years I wanted to do this trip and he made it come true. He did great. And he knows it. lol. We went with my son and his bride and loved every single moment. Thank you for being with me today.

Hi, Angela! Like, right! No bags that spoke to me. Go figure. But I think I did well when I found the Kate Spade one. lol Hugs!

Oh, Vicki, I'm so glad you had a wonderful vacation! Yes, Handsome is a keeper!

And I thought I was late with my birthday wishes. My oldest daughter is pushing her birthday in a few weeks as I've told her before, I had her when I was two. She said I didn't have to lie like that because she was only 29. So she's turning 29 again. (I raised her right!)

As for handbags? I gave up on those a long time ago. But I will admit my glove box in the car is stuffed! I carry a wallet and a business card holder. They fit in pockets! I got out of the habit when I worked and had to drag around a computer and some other equipment. A handbag was too much! I do have a few very nice ones that I carry when it's a must! They are small and hold my cell phone, etc. Sometimes you just must have a purse/handbag! :-)

Vicki, I hope your birthday cruise was wonderful.

I'm looking for the "perfect" handbag but alas, I don't think it exists. I want one that also fits my Ipad when I want to take it with me, but be light too. I know, that's impossible. I love handbags and every time I go into a store I have to look at them. I don't stress over it though.

I hope your new year around the sun brings you many wonderful story ideas, handbags, joy, health, prosperity and much love.

Hi, E. Ayers! So many of you have said he's a keeper. If I tell him, his head might swell. No living with him then. lol

Not late at all. I'm celebrating until next Tuesday. A few lunches and dinners to go. Might as well party on-right?

Hi, Jean! And thank you for stopping. The cruise was a dream come true. I would stay on the boat and go and go...

No stressing over bags. And when one didn't appear on the trip, I was surprised, but didn't worry. I knew one would come my way and the little trunk one did.

Thank you so much. I'm working on those stories, but a lot of life keeps me away and I have to stay focused.

Again, Happy Birthday, Vicky! The cruise sounds perfect, and the handbag is adorable. Only you would know where to find one that's so unique!

Sydell Voeller said...

Sorry I misspelled your name, Vicki. I'm afraid I've probably done that before too. Three thumps to my forehead!

Vicki Batman, sassy writer said...

Hi, Sydell! and no worries. I grew up with Vickey, Vickie, Vikki in my classes. There was always at least 3 of us. lol Thank you for stopping by to celebrate my b'day! Hugs!!

Happy birthday, Vicki! You are the 10th person I know who has taken the Rhine River cruise. I've dreamed of seeing the Rhine since writing my 1st book set in Germany in 1890!
