Handbag & Book with
Vicki
I want a kitty. LOL. A year has passed since beloved Scootie and I am missing her. She was a good girl, my writing companion. The only kitty my #2 son has known all his life. But a kitty wouldn't fit in my life right now. And so I settled for a handbag.
Then there is my youngest sister. She is executor of my parents' estate. The other day she let me know some information and I was hit with I should get my sister a thank you gift. A handbag. So I did!
But you know me. I had to look around too. And I found this:
The green color is outstanding! I especially like the two pouches on one side and the small tote handles. I wouldn't have bought it if the handles had been the larger tote ones. And then there's the cross body strap. I have to confess, I probably did something most of you wouldn't do to a Kate Spade bag. I modified it. The strap didn't come off. And there are times for a strap and times for handles. I went to my local shoe shop and he put "D" rings on the sides and added toggles. Much more practical. Which leaves me scratching my head, wondering why didn't Kate Spade put on a detachable strap? I did the toggle thing before on my turquoise bag.
The big question is: Did I ruin the bag?
And the second question is: Do you like the green?
Bad Job. Wrong love. And murder. She's baaccck. Hattie Cooks takes a new temporary job--we all saw this coming, right? And Detective Allan Wellborn is along side as they discover who is knocking off auditors at the accounting firm. Preorder the e-book at: The Wild Rose Press

I have a pair of slacks that exact same shade of green -- only the catalogue called it "pea."
I have a small handbag that color and I love it. I'd love a kitten, or two, but hubby is a dog guy, so we currently don't have either. Happy Monday, Vicki. Always love your posts.
Hi, Angela! Pea is an interesting term. lol. I only thought grass green. So far, I'm loving it. Hugs!
Hi, JM! I'm so glad you like my handbag posts. OOOH, you maybe could show off your green bag??? I've had a kitty since age five. One whole year without is sad. We do have the poodoos. They are tons of fun, but not quite as cuddly. Hugs!
Hi Vicki, I've never owned a green purse--I tend to stick to the neutrals and red. But this purse is appealing and has me contemplating a change...
Hi, Joanne! I have soft subtle green bags and not quite this big. It looks big because of the height and width, but it is very narrow. And had those nifty patch pockets. I'm loving it and seems to go with many things!
Hi Vicki. I love green, but my pop color this season is that sort of flamingo pinkish orange. Weird description, but hey. You are such a good sister to think about all your little sister is doing.
My old dog had to be put down the end of May and I'm really missing having a pet. I love cats and dogs pretty evenly. Not sure I'm ready yet though. I'm enjoying the freedom of not having to find someone to keep my pets when I want to get away. We shall see how long I last before I get another.
Have a great Monday!
Great find!! Love the color! And I think your modification is so clever. :) I'm going to try this on one of mine. I love the purse, but don't carry it much because I don't like the dang strap hanging and catching on everything! LOL So thanks for sharing!
I love the color. But you know me, I'm not a handbag person so I have no idea if you ruined the bag - but it's definitely more useable. Bev
I love the green! Hey I finally have a new purse story to tell! :) I will have to email it to you!
I love the color, and your addition took nothing away from the bag. I'm a shoes and handbag fanatic! It's so bad my daughter will tell me to look the other way when we pass a shoe store, knowing she'll never get me out. :)

Hi, Pam! I gotcha on the color. I also like geranium. My little sister has been a rock. She got the handbag and says she loves the turquoise color. Yeah!!! I'm sorry about your doggie. It's so hard to let go of our "children."
Hi, Melissa! If you need a close up, let me know. Like I said, I did this to another bag. I wouldn't have carried mine without the modification. Hugs!
Hi, Beverley! Even if you aren't a handbag person, you visit me and that is very nice. ox
Hi, Melissa! I know that green really rocks. I can't wait to hear your story.
Hi, Mia! I'm terrible. Just terrible. I will say last year when on the Rhine River cruise, I thought I'll buy me a handbag as a memento from the trip. Wrong. I never saw anything very unique, definitely not like what I saw in Florence on another trip. That's when I bought four...no, five. LOL. Thanks for visiting with me.
Yoo didn't ruin it, you customized it! I do have a green bag but I rarely use it.
Hi, 20Pat! I love that word...customized. Perfect. In honor of my green bag, find yours and carry it! Thank you for stopping.
Well, Vicki, I think the color is very "springy" looking. I would do a Turquoise one, but I don't have to because one of my daughters got me one for mother's day. With fringe and all. People stop me on the street (or they did when I was walking) LOL and comment on what a cool purse it is. Something that had never happened to me before because as my daughter commented, I tend to have "boring" purses.
As to whether you ruined the purse putting in the toggles...how brilliant of you! I've shared. :)
Hi, Marsha! "Boring purses"??? We all have done that and for a good reason. Sometimes, our handbags have to be functional. For example, I have a nylon crossbody I'm taking on a trip and it isn't all that clever looking. It's practical. I won't regret it. BTW, I packed a cute evening bag, too. Hugs!
Yes Love Those Bright Colors Looks like a Mt Dew-ish Green to me also My Fav Drink but anyway No you didn't ruin it as long as you aren't going to want to re-sell as an original The Modification works for you so it's all good
Love green purses...any hue. Celebrate color and celebrate life. Cheers!
I think adding a strap was a marvelous improvement. There are just times when you need both hands free. Love the green too. I have a collection of olive green bags, myself.
