Welcome, Barbara!
Hopefully your browser will show this bag
close to its true (rose-pink) color. I bought the bag to match a gown I wore to
a formal party.
It’s actually smaller than it looks, so it doesn’t hold much.
And I’ll confess, now the dress the bag went with is long gone, the color makes
it tough to find clothes that go well with it. But isn’t it pretty? And don’t
you think that’s worth the challenge? ;)
Worst. Day. Ever. After Lyssa Barnett’s
sister tricks her into reprising her role at Snowflake Valley's annual
children's party, she doesn’t think anything can be worse than squeezing into
her too-small elf costume. Then tall, dark, and way too handsome Nick Tavlock
shows up to play Santa…and an unexpected storm leaves them snowbound in the
isolated lodge.
Nick turned to Tommy.
“Compromise means you have to give and take.”
“I got it!” The little boy
thumped his fist against the tabletop. “I give you chicken. And I take
dessert.”
Lyssa and Mollie laughed.
Brent tried to smother a chuckle.
Nick shook his head as if
in irritation, but even he couldn’t hide the half-smile that touched his lips
and brightened his eyes.
At the sight, Lyssa
swallowed her grin and looked away. She didn’t want to see him happy and
smiling. She didn’t want to see him at all.
When they’d dated, she had
gotten used to Nick’s excitement about a new project he’d accepted, a takeover
bid he’d engineered, a company merger that required delicate negotiations only
he could handle. The trouble was, his exhilaration over all those things shut
her out.
But, without fail, that
smile of his would draw her in again.

Hi, Vicki - I'm glad the color came through well! Yes, I love it, too. :)
Thanks so much for hosting me today.
I once had a mind green purse that I had a hard time matching a outfit with. I bought in on sale when I was visiting friends in Boston and it went with the dress I brought along to go to a wedding... I don't think I ever used it again and eventually gave it to my nieces to play dress up with.
That's the problem with some dressy bags, Kathleen - they're so pretty but sometimes impractical because they have to go with That One Thing.
Thanks for stopping by to comment!

Vicki - always a pleasure to visit with you!
As for the matching issue, maybe I just need to broaden my color spectrum. LOL
Christmas stories are my favorite, and this one looks sweet. Love that last line of your excerpt. I'm a sucker for a winning smile.
Hi, Kathy - I love Christmas stories, too, and especially love to binge on them around the holidays.
I'm glad you enjoyed the excerpt! Thanks so much for stopping by.
Rohit - I like to include children in my books, and the scene about them learning to sew was a fun one to write!

Such a pretty bag. I'm glad you were able to find one to match the dress. :) I hope your holidays are bright!
Hi, Melissa - I was glad to find it, too. My luck when it comes to putting outfits together isn't always the best. It's AMAZING how many shades there can be of a single color. LOL
And thank you - I hope your holidays are wonderful, as well!
The bag would make an awesome accessory for a daytime wedding outfit.
What a great point, Angela! That rose pink is a very good daytime color. Thanks for the thought.
