Handbag & Book blog with author Liese Sherwood Fabre - What is Your Steal and Deal? #handbag #accessory #freebook #SherlockHolmes

This is my post-COVID handbag. Just prior to the pandemic, The Today Show had a “Steals and Deals” offer that included Kate Spade. I really wanted the gray and beige, but they went fast! In the end, I choose this maroon and beige, which I think is even prettier. I never buy actual designer bags (I do have Prada and Louis Vuitton knock-offs purchased on the streets of various cities, but that’s another story) and decided to splurge on a new Kate Spade wallet to go with it.

They arrived in early March—just as we were getting warnings about going out and talks of lock-downs. At that time, my husband, who meets several of the high-risk criteria, and I determined that until we get the “all clear” call, we’re staying put. So, I stored my new handbag away until then. I might have hair down to my waist (after a disastrous attempt to cut my bangs in the seventh grade, I vowed “never again” to cut it myself), but I’ll look great with this bag on my arm!

Missing boys, an imposter husband, and a bizarre vampyre murder.

Sherlock Holmes ventures into the realm of the unnatural in these three cases: the disappearance of the Baker Street Irregulars, the true identity of a Great War veteran, and a vampyre’s grisly death. Crossing into the worlds of the Grimm Brothers and Bram Stoker, he seeks the clues needed to unravel the mysteries confronting him. Can Holmes’ conventional methods still function in the unconventional world?

"[Dr. Sherwood-Fabre] knows her Holmes characterization and her stories do not disappoint."

More about Liese Sherwood-Fabre: Award-winning author Dr. Liese Sherwood-Fabre doesn’t remember a time she didn’t know of Sherlock Holmes—be it the old Basel Rathbone movies, Tom and Jerry in deerstalker hats, or the original Conan Doyle tales. During her thirty-plus years as a federal employee, Dr. Sherwood-Fabre worked and lived in various countries, including Mexico and Russia, finding inspiration for stories based on events taking place around her. She garnered a prestigious Pushcart nomination for a short story inspired by her experiences in Mexico, and having lived through the tumultuous years of

Russia’s budding democracy, her first published novel, Saving Hope, centered around an unemployed Russian microbiologist who must choose between saving her daughter’s life or working with a former KGB agent to stop the sale of bioweapons to Iran.

After returning to the states, Dr. Sherwood-Fabre revived her early interest in Sherlock Holmes and the Victorian period. For the past six years, she has shared her knowledge with other Sherlockians by contributing regularly to several society newsletters, as well as the prestigious Baker Street Journal and Canadian Holmes publications. Her Sherlock Holmes origin series The Early Case Files of Sherlock Holmes launched in June 2020.

Answer these questions:

Chocolate pudding, cake, pie? Any of them, but if I had to choose—a chocolate cream pie with plenty of whipped topping

Coffee, Tea, Champagne? Coffee. I’m an addict. What can I say?

Country music or Michael Buble? I’ve never been a big country-music fan (although there are some I enjoy), so I have to say Michael Buble
